Caitlin Slotter, PsyD
Dr. Slotter aspires to create a safe, supportive, and fun environment for her clients to self-reflect, practice skills, and gain insight into themselves and how they interact with the world around them. She uses a relational approach focused on fostering a supportive and genuine therapeutic relationship. Within the safety of this relationship, she helps individuals and families navigate mental health struggles and build coping skills.
Dr. Slotter is also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). She has also completed training in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), a parent-based treatment program for children and adolescents with anxiety, OCD, and related problems. She pulls from these modalities as clinically indicated and individually tailors them to each individual's needs.
Dr. Slotter specializes in therapeutic intervention for children, adolescents, and young adults. She also sees adults across the lifespan. She has a particular interest in and experience with anxiety, depressive, and mood disorders. Additionally, Dr. Slotter is well versed in helping families navigate issues related to ADHD and behavioral dysregulation. She also has an interest in the connection between emotional and physical well-being (including health, sleep, exercise, diet, socializing, and technology use) and this has been a focus of her research efforts as well as an important aspect of her clinical approach. Dr. Slotter earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Boston College.
She earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hartford in Connecticut. Dr. Slotter has trained in a variety of settings, including early-intervention preschools, community-based mental health centers, psychological assessment programs, and child- and family-focused private practice.
